ALL THE PAINTERS HAVE PAINTED STILL-LIFE

 

                     SOUVENIRS OF PAST LIVES  series 

     In my garage I have a collection of objects.
     They are "treasures", things that I have never thrown
     out when I have moved house and country.
     Arranged in a row these objects spell out my life.
     I call them souvenirs of past lives.
     the numbers in the painthings refer to the dates, times

 Barbara Bailey was born in England and
 trained as a painter and fashion designer at
 Sunderland College of Art.
 Barbara has worked as a painter for 25 years
 and as a fashion and textile designer in the
 UK and American.
 Her work often incorporates hand and
 machine-stitching and textile collage.

 Barbara Bailey è nata in Inghilterra e ha studiato
 pittura e stilistica al Collegio  di Arte Sunderland.
 Barbara ha lavorato come pittrice e come stilista
 per 25 anni nel Regno Unito e negli USA.
 Le sue opere incorporano sovente cuciture a
 mano od a macchina e collages di tessili.

Bárbara Bailey ha nacido en Inglaterra y ha estudiado pintura y estilística al Colegio de Arte Sunderland.
Bárbara ha trabajado como pintora y como diseñador por 25 años en el Reino Unido y
en los EE.UU..
Sus obras a menudo incorporan costuras a
mano u a máquina y collages de tejidos.

   These images are about youthful seduction, memories of dressing-up to attract a partner. They are about thoughts such as " If I had
   this dress my life would change forever".
 
   Queste immagini ricordano la seduzione giovanile, abiti sognati per attrarre un innamorato. Ci riportano a pensieri quali " Se io avessi
   questo vestito, la mia vita cambierebbe per sempre."
 
   Estas imágenes recuerdan la seducción juvenil, vestidos soñados para atraer un enamorado. Nos reconducen a pensamientos cuál
  "Si  yo tuviera éste vestido, mi vida cambiaría para siempre."

   print. Materials are layered to produce a
   tactile surface.
